Winter Projects 2016 - 2017

Yep. flying in the North East in the winter is rough, so it's project time. So with the Holidays being over, and still cold and snowy outside, it is time to get serious about some lingering projects.

DTF 145

Not much left to do with this mini quad, already installed the new body giving me a little more room inside. I just need to scrounge up some servo mounting screws and finish putting all the screws in the top plate. Also need to fix the low voltage warning in the OSD and get some more aggressive props. The 3x2 props that I have are ok, but would like a little more punch. Someone recommended trying 3x3 props, so I am going to try those.

Morphite 180

After way too long it is just about ready to maiden. I did a few short test hovers indoors and compared to the DTF 145, it has way more thrust. This baby is going to be a blast to fly, not that I am a speed demon or anything, but it would be nice to do some wicked fast climbs and float upside down for a few seconds.

The FPV Quad

This was put on hold when I started building the APM Dev quad that I was using for testing and experimenting. The idea behind the "Dev" quad was to build a inexpensive (expendable) quadcopter that would be used for Beta testing new FC code and messing around with other addons, like LEDs and companion computers, mechanical grippers, etc... without messing up the FPV quad. Well it's time now to finish the FPV quad. I have had the parts for months, just need to finish it up.

That should keep me busy for a while. I also have some fixed wing stuff to finish, but need to finish these first. I will update as needed.
